Wintry fashion blast from the past

 This winter, it’s good time to turn back the fashion clock. With fashion’s ever-revolving door, clothing styles we thought were long gone in the past have made a comeback be it boot cut jeans or the 1980s floral prints.

Designer Priyanka Batra list out some trend from the past which we can flaunt this season:



*Flowy garments: Thought to be dead and a thing of the past, flowy dresses are coming back in fashion and making appearances on ramps as well. These include georgette and satin georgette flowy midis, maxis, gowns and evening dresses.


*Prints and patterns: The 1980s fashion of floral prints is also making its rejuvenated comeback on the runways. Today, floral printed blouses, skirts and dresses are becoming a common sight reflecting a hint of the bygone Victorian era.


*Vintage colours: Colours indulging deeper and denser into the colour palette are rapidly gaining popularity which includes shades of dead red rose, hues of midnight blue and bottle green.

alazzos and Boot cut jeans - The style which was thought to be lost a decade ago is also making strong re-appearances in the wardrobe of every girl. Palazzos, a modernised version of Sharara are in vogue today.

"Sonakshi Sinha" open to pursuing fashion designing in future


Actress Sonakshi Sinha, who commenced her vocation as a costume designer, verbalizes that she is open to explore fashion designing as a vocation in the future.
“Not now, but in the future. Never verbally express never.

I have studied fashion designing so I feel I can pursue it in the future,” verbalized Sonakshi, when asked if she intended to turn fashion designer. She ambulated the ramp in a J.J. Valaya outfit at the Blender’s Pride Fashion Tour 2015.
Sonakshi, who did her fashion designing course from Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women’s University (SNDT) here, reminisced being ushered in as a volunteer for fashion weeks where she would be waiting to optically canvass Valaya’s show.
The “Dabangg” actress additionally verbally expressed that she felt like a “princess” because of the “beautiful” outfit.




“J.J. Valaya is somebody who’s always been so ingenious. He blends an abundance of comely worlds into the threads that he weaves. Comely colours, so wearable that my mother, who was sitting in the front row, verbalized, ‘Such great attire were on display’. It’s something that I would dote to wear and something that somebody of her age would relish to wear,” she verbalized.
Sonakshi verbalized that she feels “delighted” whenever her mother Poonam accompanies her to fashion shows.
“I feel very delectated when she accompanies me and she does that for virtually all shows because she authentically relishes optically canvassing me walk on the ramp. She feels genuinely proud. So whenever I come for a fashion show, I ask her, ‘Do you optate to come?’ and she verbally expresses, ‘Of course, I optate to come’. She’s my most astronomically immense support,” she verbally expressed.



Ambulating on the ramp is not an incipient area for Sonakshi, considering that she has ambulated for the most astronomically immense fashion and jewellery events over the years such as Lakme Fashion Week, Indian International Jewellery Week, HDIL Couture Week, among other shows.

I’ve ambulated (the ramp) an abundance of times and I feel good and additionally I do feel confident as your experience in the industry goes on incrementing.
